The thing with fly fishing is it takes time and patience, its not instant fish catching (sometimes but not often)
Websites are fine but the best way is to buy a book or even better is to talk to people at your local lake and also in the tackle shop, ive been fly fishing for about 35 years and am still learning it takes time as i have already said but what i will say is fish still water lakes to start with now for websiteshttp://www.freewebs.com/troutandsea/http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores…
You might want to tie your own flieshttp://www.virtualflybox.com/
You will need knots look at thesehttp://www.killroys.com/knots/albright.h…
For tackle look at cabelas the firts link will give you some idea as what to start off with rod and line wise. In cas eyou dont have a rod look at these
i would give Cortland a try or redington although your best bet will be with redington as belowhttp://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa…
for the price and quality you get give these some serious thoughthttp://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa…
or if this is in your price range then tryhttp://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa…
You will probably know this but for general fishing i would recommend you get a 9 feet to 9,6 and an AFTM of 6/7 generally 7 will suit most types of fishing you will need it for. For streams decrease the number, happy fly fishing.

You should go to your local fly shops and ask about classes and local clubs but the best way is to practise casting on a wet lawn.
One other suggestion would be to get out and fish with someone better than you. That is going to be the best way.

I consider Sexyloops to be the flycasting resource on the Internet. Advice and knowledge has been spread throughout the site.

Easiest way for me was in my backyard accompanied by a friend, that showed me the basics. After that it was good old common sense and a little readin’ up on it. Only thing I had ta’ overcome was that fly wantin’ ta’ kiss my ear lobe, following thru with the cast . Key factor is presentation (how you lay the fly in the water when castin’). For myself, OJT (On the Job Trainin’) is the best…
Link is for a book that a gal I know used when startin’ out and she highly recommends it. Great price, I might add .http://www.flyfisherwomen.com/
