I’m jealous!
You live in a beautiful part of the country for fly-fishing.
I started fly-fishing a few years ago. I didn’t catch anything for a long time.
I’d suggest either hiring a guide to show you the ropes or finding a more experienced friend.
I’ve gone fly-fishing several times with my more experienced brother-in-law and have learned boatloads. He learned much from hiring guides.
One thing I’ve learned about fishing is that accepted protocol is NOT to list specific sites/locations … otherwise those places get flooded with people fishing. (In fact, some monitored fishing forums refuse to post any posting with specific locations in them).
I didn’t know that when I started reading on-line. Made a fool of myself one forum.
Good luck!

Go to the local sport shops and ask where the fish were biting this weekend and what they were hitting. Also try the Fair this week and ask the sportsmen exhibit. Nearby you may not have much luck on flies this time of year. parts of the Nisqually, Lewis and Satsop have some good fishing. Also for flies the Yakima is good from now through October for Steelies and resident trout. Fly fishing is always harder than bait fishing or flashers. We have a lot of good fishig in the area, but I think we are between runs right now so you should have been there 2 weeks ago. or in another 2 weeks. Isn’t that what the guide always says?
You can find out about where to fish and what to use from a local fly shop. Even how to present the fly and times of day. There are a lot of other things to learn about fly fishing. Need to know how to read a stream, how to cast and drift without line drag. A guide would be a good investment to get you started and save you some do-it-yourself learning.
Good luck! Wish I were there. I would have you catching fish in no time.
